Fujairah Municipality and Dolphin Energy Limited Conduct Safety Awareness Workshop

Abu Dhabi, April 24, 2013:  Fujairah Municipality has joined forces with Dolphin Energy Limited to hold an educational workshop on the importance of safety and security when in proximity of the company’s UAE Gas Network.

Held over two days from 23-24 April, 2013 at the Al Bustan Hall, Fujairah, the workshop was attended by high school children, municipality and government employees as well as local contractors.

In addition to receiving advice on safety and security, those participating were given an overview of Dolphin Energy’s operations and highlights on the importance of gas supply to the east coast of the UAE.  The workshop also included a question and answer session in which attendees interacted with the company’s senior management team.

Commenting on the impact of the workshop, Engineer Mohamed Saif Al Afkham, Director General of Fujairah Municipality, said: “We are very pleased that Dolphin Energy has invested time and resources into conducting a safety awareness workshop. Their commitment to ensuring that people are aware of the hazards of a gas pipeline network and the steps they should take to minimize any risk of injury sets a strong example. It was a very informative event and it was good to learn more about the company and the importance of natural gas supply to the UAE.

“Fujairah is witnessing phenomenal change and we are thankful to Dolphin Energy, both for the contribution they are making to the emirate’s economic development and industrial growth and to encouraging the safety and security of local residents.”

Outlining the importance of the session, Mr. Ibrahim Ahmed Al Ansaari, General Manager, Dolphin Energy, UAE, said: “A considerable portion of our gas network is located in the emirate of Fujairah and we wanted to remind attendees about the importance of acting safely and being vigilant at all times.

“The workshop helped us to reach out to those who have a key role to play in spreading messages about the need for safety. We have built a proud safety record under the mantra of ‘no harm to the social or natural environment’ and an initiative of this nature will help us to maintain that record.”
