Dolphin Energy Sponsors New Erwda Book:

Comprehensive Study is Published Today by Abu Dhabi’s Environment Agency

Abu Dhabi, UAE, February 5, 2005 – Dolphin Energy Limited is a sponsor of an important environmental book in Arabic on the breeding bird species of the UAE -- released by ERWDA (the Abu Dhabi Environmental Research and Wildlife Development Agency) today.

“Breeding Birds of the UAE” offers the reader more than 240 pages of information about 140 different species of local birds, and is filled with high-quality illustrations.

The book provides a detailed insight into the breeding habits of the various bird species in the UAE, records of hundreds of sightings, and lists steps that are recommended to ensure expansion of safe local breeding grounds. Dolphin Energy’s international partners, Total and Occidental Petroleum, are also sponsors of this important work.

“Breeding Birds of the UAE” will be distributed to ministries and embassies, throughout the country. Dolphin will also be undertaking its own donations of copies to university and high school libraries throughout the UAE.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahayan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the UAE and Chairman of Dolphin Energy Limited said: “With the growing population of the UAE, and its diverse bird population, it is imperative that we take steps towards conserving these species.

“We are delighted to support this initiative, along with our partners, and to help educate the public on how to protect and assist in wildlife conservation throughout the region.”

Majid Al Mansoori, Secretary General for ERWDA added: “This book will educate readers about the different bird species in the UAE. Equally important, it relates the dangers they face and the action that can and should be taken to ensure their survival. We are grateful to all our sponsors for their support.”
