Dolphin Energy Unveils Abu Dhabi Science Festival Activity Schedule

Abu Dhabi – November 16, 2011

Dolphin Energy Limited today announced details of its activity schedule for the forthcoming Abu Dhabi Science Festival which is taking place on 18th – 26th November, 2011.

As platinum sponsor of the event, it is taking an active role with a sizeable presence at both locations at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center and the Abu Dhabi Corniche, West Plaza.

The company, which is responsible for providing 30% of the UAE’s energy requirements, is sponsoring the Dolphin Energy Theatre – home to activities including Science Show Offs – Going Ballistics; James Soper’s Bend it like Beckham and The Real Science of the Circus; Tom Noddy’s Bubble Magic and Sounding Numbers.

The shows start on Friday 18th, November and run until Saturday 26th November. Doors open on the Friday at 2.00pm with the first show starting at 2.40pm. “We are very proud to be associated with this wonderful initiative which aims to encourage the youth into the sciences by stimulating intrigue and interest through a series of interactive exhibits and learning experiences. The shows that are taking place at the Dolphin Energy Theatre certainly support this and I am sure they will help contribute to overall success of the program,” explained Mr. Ibrahim Ahmed Al Ansaari, General Manager, Dolphin Energy, UAE.

In addition, Dolphin Energy is running a series of interactive exhibits at its specially designed stand on the Abu Dhabi Corniche, West Plaza from 18th November to 24th December, 2011. There, visitors can enjoy an array of activities over a five week period that include the human gyroscope, a dry ice booth and the Mad Scientist who will be on the stand offering to teach visitors how to create super bouncy balls, make magic mud, alter sound waves, curious colors, create rocket launchers and bubbling potions.

The timings for the activities taking place on the Abu Dhabi Corniche, West Plaza are weekdays from 5pm – 10pm and weekends from 2pm to 10pm.

“This will be a city wide festival that seeks to inspire young people, encourage a new crop of scientists and engineers and support plans to develop a talent base that will help elevate Abu Dhabi into a world class center for science, technology and innovation. We are very excited about participating,” Mr. Al Ansaari concluded.
