Dolphin Energy Limited has issued the following statement in relation to the company’s routine maintenance of its facilities in Qatar.
Dolphin Energy Limited announced today that it has completed a five week routine maintenance and inspection program of its production and processing facilities at Ras Laffan in Qatar.
The partial shutdown allowed essential maintenance work to be carried out on the Stream 1 facilities of the Dolphin gas processing plant and one production platform at Ras Laffan in Qatar.
The work was completed as planned and finished on February 26, 2009. A gradual increase in the supply of natural gas through the Export Pipeline linking Qatar with the UAE has since taken place. The company gradually ramped up production and achieved its regular maximum throughput of 2 billion standard cubic feet of natural gas per day (bcf/day) on March 1, 2009.
“Routine maintenance shutdowns of this type are a regular feature of the energy industry worldwide. This pre planned temporary shutdown was undertaken to ensure the highest standards of safety, maintenance and environmental protection in all areas of the company’s business.”
