Dolphin Energy is 'Presenting Sponsor' for Qatar Golf Championship of 2009

Abu Dhabi - January 21, 2009

Second Year of Dolphin Support for Commercialbank Qatar Masters

Richest Ever Golf Event to be Held in Doha

Dolphin Energy Limited announced today that it will be the 'Presenting Sponsor' for the Commercialbank Qatar Masters golf tournament 2009, for the second year in succession.

This event has made a significant impact on regional golf in the past 11 years, and the 2009 championship will run in Doha from January 22 through 25. It will be the richest ever, with a total prize purse of $2.5 million.

Speaking at the press conference in Doha, Qatar where the event was launched, Dolphin's GM-Qatar, Adel Ahmed Al Buainain, said: "I want to congratulate Hassan Al Nuaimi, President of the QGA, for preparing such a magnificent course and for hosting this event.

"Dolphin Energy is a young company, but we have become part of the Qatar community in a very short time. We support professionalism and commitment in everything we do in our own business - it is therefore wholly appropriate to support the same values in this great sporting contest."

Many top international golfers have entered the 2009 Qatar Masters from the UK, Europe, the USA and Asia.

Spectators will look forward to another final as exciting as in January 2008, when Australian Adam Scott became the first player in the history of the tournament to win the trophy for a second time - with a brilliant 61 final round. He was chased all the way by a host of household golfing names including Henrik Stenson, Sergio Garcia, Luke Donald, Paul Casey, Ian Poulter, Scott Verplank and Lee Westwood.

Dolphin Energy Limited

Dolphin Energy Limited was created to develop substantial energy projects throughout the GCC and to create long-term economic wealth and new business opportunities for GCC citizens, far into the future.

Dolphin Energy’s major strategic initiative, the Dolphin Project, involves the production and processing of natural gas from Qatar’s North Field, and transportation of the dry gas by sub-sea export pipeline from Qatar to the UAE, which begun in July 2007.

The long term customers for Dolphin gas from Qatar are ADWEA (Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority), UWEC (Union Water & Electricity Authority), DUSUP (Dubai Supply Authority) and from 2008 OOC (Oman Oil Company). Each has signed a gas supply agreement with Dolphin Energy for 25 years.

Dolphin Energy is owned 51 percent by Mubadala Development Company, on behalf of the Government of Abu Dhabi – and 24.5 percent each by Total of France and Occidental Petroleum of the USA.
