Dolphin Energy Offers Support For Second World Future Energy Summit

Abu Dhabi - January 18, 2009

Major Sustainable Energy Congress will be Held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from January 19-21, 2009

Dolphin Energy Limited today renewed its support to the 2nd World Future Energy Summit (WFES), taking place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre between January 19 and 21, 2009 - and launched its new international exhibition stand design.

The summit is once again being held under the patronage of Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahayan. It will host international and regional representatives from government, commerce and NGOs - and will be supported by a substantial conference.

This covers a wide range of themes including: energy policy, investment and funding, green buildings, clean transport, solar and wind power and biofuels. Other topics, and exhibits, of major investment interest are: ocean power, geothermal, waste to energy, fuel cells, carbon management and environmental strategy.

Dolphin Energy CEO Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh commented: "Abu Dhabi took a major policy decision three years ago to develop alternative sources of energy that will provide cleaner, safer and renewable power through its strategic 'Masdar' project.

"Dolphin Energy continues to strongly support the objectives of Masdar and of the WFES. We have been impressed to see the overridingly positive response from the renewable energy industry worldwide to Masdar's zero-carbon, zero-waste city, now under construction near Abu Dhabi.

"As a major natural gas supplier to the Southern Gulf, the company believes that gas will play a significant role in bridging the gap from traditional energy sources to a future founded extensively on sustainable energy."

Over 15,000 delegates are expected to attend the WFES in 2009, making the event the largest meeting of influential figures in the renewable energy community. The exhibition has been extended to cover over 20,000 sq meters.

Dolphin Energy Limited

Dolphin Energy Limited was created to develop substantial energy projects throughout the GCC and to create long-term economic wealth and new business opportunities for GCC citizens, far into the future.

Dolphin Energy’s major strategic initiative, the Dolphin Project, involves the production and processing of natural gas from Qatar’s North Field, and transportation of the dry gas by sub-sea export pipeline from Qatar to the UAE, which begun in July 2007.

The long term customers for Dolphin gas from Qatar are ADWEA (Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority), UWEC (Union Water & Electricity Authority), DUSUP (Dubai Supply Authority) and from 2008 OOC (Oman Oil Company). Each has signed a gas supply agreement with Dolphin Energy for 25 years.

Dolphin Energy is owned 51 percent by Mubadala Development Company, on behalf of the Government of Abu Dhabi – and 24.5 percent each by Total of France and Occidental Petroleum of the USA.
