Dolphin Energy Issues Tender Documents For Taweelah - Fujairah Gas Pipeline Project
Nine International Contractors on Approved Bidders List
Dolphin Energy Limited has issued ‘Invitation to Tender’ documents for the design and build of the Taweelah to Fujairah Gas Pipeline Project.
The Taweelah to Fujairah Gas Pipeline (TFP) will be 48 inches in diameter and over 240 kilometers in length – one of the longest and largest overland pipelines in the UAE.
The TFP will link Dolphin Energy’s gas receiving facilities at Taweelah, on the coast of Abu Dhabi, with the ADWEA Power and Water Desalination Plant at Qidfa, in Fujairah.
Bids for the TFP design and build project are due by January 31, 2008. The award is likely to be made during next summer, with site work expected to begin during third quarter 2008.
Nine contracting companies have been invited to bid:
- Al Jaber Energy, UAE
- Consolidated Contractors Company, Greece
- CPECC, China
- Dodsal, India
- Petrojet, Egypt
- Snamprogetti, Italy
- STG, Russia
- Techint, Saudi Arabia
- Technip, Germany
Dolphin Energy currently supplies the Qidfa plant with up to 135 million standard cubic feet of gas per day via Al Ain Fujairah Pipeline, which the company commissioned in January 2004. The new TFP pipeline will support ADWEA’s proposed expansion and development program at Qidfa, Fujairah.

Dolphin Energy is owned 51 percent by Mubadala Development Company, on behalf of the Government of Abu Dhabi – and 24.5 percent each by Total of France and Occidental Petroleum of the USA.
