Community Outreach

In July 2007, the Dolphin Gas Project became a reality, with the export of first gas through the subsea pipeline from Qatar to the UAE, the initial shipment of condensate from Ras Laffan, and the near completion of construction.

Throughout the construction period between 2003 and the present day, Dolphin Energy has committed itself to safeguarding the environment and minimizing health and safety risks to employees, contractors and the communities in which we operate.

One of the early strategic management decisions, taken within Dolphin in 2002, was to rank QHSE excellence equally with other primary business objectives. This message has been well received by shareholders, employees and surrounding communities.

As Dolphin evolves, and as the company enters the operational phase, it is further consolidating its business, financial, environmental and social performance. This will be an effective way of working with local businesses and communities to develop long term partnerships for sustainable regional development.

The website sections on Education, Arts, Science, Culture and Dialog outline ongoing community outreach programs and practices adopted by Dolphin. They demonstrate how the company is implementing its principles of social responsibility for employees, stakeholders and neighbors.

In many cases, Dolphin’s community outreach programs are well established – others are still in development. However, all will continue to develop as Dolphin strengthens its bonds and links with all its neighbors and partners: local, regional and global.  Being a good neighbor is good business.
