Condensate Storage and Export

Dolphin Energy has constructed three 500,000 barrel storage tanks for condensate at Ras Laffan, which have been in use since July 2007. One further tank of the same size is being constructed, plus two further tanks each holding 660,000 barrels, by Qatar Engineering and Construction Company. When complete, the storage capacity will increase from 1.5 million to 3.32 million barrels.

Dolphin is the designated operators of the tank farm and use of this facility is shared with Qatar Shell GTL and the Barzan Gas Project – a joint venture of Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil Corporation. Condensate is sent to loading berths at Ras Laffan Port through a dedicated 32 inch line.
