Taweelah Receiving Facilities

Dolphin gas produced in Qatar arrives at the company’s Taweelah Receiving Facilities in Abu Dhabi, UAE at a maximum rate of 2 billion standard cubic feet per day (scf/day) through the subsea Export Pipeline from Ras Laffan.

The Facilities consist of three parallel gas receiving trains, metering facilities, control buildings and warehousing. The Facilities are joined to various interconnecting pipelines that link customers’ facilities.

The EPC contract for Taweelah was awarded to Technip/Al Jaber in 2004 and construction was completed early in 2007. The facilities were subsequently tested and commissioned, thanks to temporary supplies of early gas from Qatar Petroleum in March, before receiving regular supplies of Dolphin’s own gas from Qatar from July 2007.
